## About this wine

Ver Sacrum was founded in 2011 by Eduardo Soler and a team of passionate winemakers in Mendoza's Uco Valley. Named after the ancient Latin ritual meaning 'Sacred Spring,' the project focuses on reviving Mediterranean Rhône varieties in high-altitude Argentine terroir. The Gloria Garnacha is sourced from a tiny single plot in Los Chacayes and pays homage to silent-film icon Gloria Swanson.

## Interesting facts

- Features silent-era Hollywood icon Gloria Swanson on the bottle label.
- Ver Sacrum is Latin for 'Sacred Spring', referring to an ancient Roman ritual of rebirth.
- Vineyard sits at 1,160 meters elevation on an ancient stony riverbed in Los Chacayes.

## Food pairing

This vibrant, high-acidity Garnacha with soft tannins pairs effortlessly with savory roasted meats, game, and wild mushroom dishes. Its energetic fresh acidity cuts through fat, while soft tannins do not clash with delicate proteins.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested from high-elevation bush vines, 50% whole clusters undergo four days of semi-carbonic maceration at low temperatures. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts lasts 18 days in equal parts 400-liter French oak barrels and clay amphorae. The wine ages 18 months split between clay amphorae and neutral oak casks, followed by 20 months of bottle aging before release. Unfiltered.
