## About this wine

Las Jaras Wines was established in 2017 by UC Davis-trained winemaker Joel Burt and actor/comedian Eric Wareheim. Their goal is to make serious, balanced, low-intervention natural wines wrapped in approachable and fun packaging. Sourced from old-vine, dry-farmed, organic vineyards in Mendocino County—including the Gary Venturi Vineyard and Frei Vineyard—the Glou Glou Red Blend embodies a vibrant, easy-drinking chillable red style inspired by classic French 'vin de soif'.

## Interesting facts

- Co-founded by winemaker Joel Burt and actor/comedian Eric Wareheim.
- Named after the French onomatopoeia 'glou glou', referring to the sound of easy chugging.
- Made from dry-farmed, organic old vines in Mendocino County.

## Food pairing

This vibrant chillable red features juicy fruit expression, bright natural acidity, and low tannin grip. Its crisp backbone cuts effortlessly through greasy cheese, fried edges, and savory pork fats, making it an exceptional partner for casual pub fare, thin-crust pizza, and grilled meats.

## Wine making process

Fermented spontaneously using indigenous yeast in separate lots employing carbonic maceration, traditional skin maceration, and reverse saignée to elevate fruit aromatics while minimizing tannin extraction. The wine aged for 10 months prior to assembly, with two-thirds kept in stainless steel tanks and one-third in neutral oak barrels. It was left unfined and lightly filtered for fruit clarity before bottling with a small sulfite addition.
