## About this wine

Homok means sand in Hungarian, referencing the sandy topsoil of the Seefeld vineyard in Neusiedl am See, Burgenland. Produced by Alex and Maria Koppitsch, this wine belongs to their Fun Wines collection, celebrating traditional low-intervention viticulture and the unique terroir surrounding Lake Neusiedl.

## Interesting facts

- The name Homok is the Hungarian word for sand, describing the soil of the lakeside vineyard site.
- All grape varieties are harvested simultaneously and pressed together in a backyard mechanical press.
- Bottles are sealed using natural FSC-certified corks coated in natural beeswax without foil capsules.

## Food pairing

Vibrant acidity and subtle tactile grip from gross lees contact easily cut through soft fats while complementing citrus, fresh herbs, and mild spice in lighter dishes.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested in September 2025 from biodynamically farmed plots. Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc, and Sauvignon Blanc bunches were co-fermented spontaneously with native yeasts in an old mechanical screw press. Matured for 6 months on gross lees in acacia, oak foudres, stainless steel, and fiberglass before bottling unfined and unfiltered.
