## About this wine

Azienda Agricola I Lori was established in 2010 by the Sturno family in Cori, Lazio. Initially gaining renown for high-grade monovarietal extra virgin olive oil, the family expanded into viticulture in 2018 with a focus on indigenous Lazio grape varieties. Situated in the foothills of the Monti Lepini, the estate follows sustainable practices aligned with natural seasonal and lunar cycles to craft authentic regional wines.

## Interesting facts

- Made from 100% Nero Buono, an ancient autochthonous red grape variety unique to the hills of Cori.
- The vines grow on mineral-rich volcanic tuff soils formed from prehistoric volcanic activity in Lazio.
- The producer originally gained fame for award-winning extra virgin olive oil before establishing wine production in 2018.

## Food pairing

The medium-plus body, elevated freshness, and structured tannins of Nero Buono match exceptionally well with savory, fatty meats and aged cheeses. Its natural acidity cuts through rich dishes while the volcanic mineral backbone complements earthy herbs and slow-simmered sauces.

## Wine making process

Grapes are hand-harvested in early October from organically certified vineyards planted at an elevation of 350 meters on volcanic tuff soil. The vinification follows traditional red wine methods, incorporating frequent punching-down and daily pumping-over for 15 to 20 days at controlled temperatures. The wine undergoes refinement on its noble lees for approximately 90 days prior to bottling.
