## About this wine

Il Pingro is a small boutique estate in Grosseto along the Tuscan Maremma coast, founded by cousins Chiara and Margherita. The estate centers on rehabilitating their grandmother's old coastal vineyards planted just 1.3 kilometers from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The estate name derives from 'Il Pingrosso,' a historical pine tree planted on the property by their great-grandfather. The cuvée name 'Nada' pays tribute to their grandmother Nonna Nada, whose spirit of Italian hospitality guides their winemaking philosophy.

## Interesting facts

- Named after Nonna Nada, whose warm hospitality inspires the winery's philosophy of always setting an extra plate at the table.

## Food pairing

The vibrant coastal acidity, saline mineral quality, and structural texture from brief skin contact allow this wine to cut through rich fish oils and balance soft cheeses while complementing fresh, raw seafood and Mediterranean herbs.

## Wine making process

Crafted from 50 to 70-year-old Ansonica vines grown on sandy, mineral-rich coastal soils. Grapes are 100% hand-harvested and undergo a short skin maceration in neutral vessels prior to pressing. Fermentation occurs spontaneously using indigenous wild yeasts without temperature manipulation. The wine undergoes approximately six months of élevage in neutral oak vessels prior to bottling unfined, unfiltered, and with minimal added sulfur dioxide.
