## About this wine

The Marigny is a natural wine project created by Andrew Young under the umbrella of St. Reginald Parish in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Young, a former New Orleans rock drummer, moved to Oregon in 2012 to pursue winemaking. The winery name mixes his middle name, Reginald, with St. Tammany Parish, his home parish in Louisiana. The project focuses on creating vibrant, accessible, low-intervention natural wines from sustainably and organically farmed vineyards across cool-climate sites in the Willamette Valley.

## Interesting facts

- Winemaker Andrew Young was a New Orleans rock drummer before moving to Oregon to make natural wine in 2012.
- The winery name blends the founder's middle name, Reginald, with St. Tammany Parish, his home parish in Louisiana.
- The wine undergoes skin contact with ambient native yeasts and is bottled unfined and unfiltered.

## Food pairing

Skin-contact orange wines offer a unique combination of mild tannic texture, vibrant acidity, and rich aromatic intensity. These structural elements make them extraordinarily versatile with food, capable of matching the fat and salt in charcuterie and aged cheeses while cutting through rich roasted pork and handling mild spices or herbs in vegetarian dishes.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested Pinot Gris and Chardonnay grapes undergo skin-contact fermentation to craft this orange wine. Fermentation occurs spontaneously using ambient native yeasts without synthetic additions. The wine is aged on full lees in stainless steel and neutral oak vessels to enhance texture while preserving freshness. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal added sulfur dioxide.
