## About this wine

JCB N°1 is Jean-Charles Boisset's premier Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, representing the centerpiece of his private collection. Hailing from Burgundy, Boisset set out to create a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that combines the bold power of California terroir with the elegance and finesse of French winemaking. Fruit is sourced from elite vineyard blocks across Napa Valley, combining warm valley floor sites in St. Helena with high-altitude hillside plots above Stags Leap.

## Interesting facts

- Created by Burgundy native Jean-Charles Boisset to be a 'Cabernet for Pinot Noir lovers'.
- Jean-Charles Boisset defines this flagship cuvée with three words: Voluptuous, Opulent, Incorrigible.
- Fruit is sourced from elite valley floor sites in St. Helena and hillside blocks above Stags Leap.

## Food pairing

High tannins and rich body require rich proteins and fats to soften the structural frame. High quality red meats match the concentration of fruit and balance the muscular tannic core.

## Wine making process

Crafted under winemakers Stephanie Putnam and Philippe Melka, grapes are selectively hand-harvested at optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel and wooden tanks. The wine undergoes aging in French oak barrels (approximately 60% to 70% new oak) for 18 to 20 months before bottling.
