## About this wine

Jean-Yves Péron studied oenology in Bordeaux and honed his craft under legendary winemakers Thierry Allemand and Bruno Schueller before returning to Savoie in 2004 to revive abandoned, century-old mountain vineyards. Les Marlines 2020 represents a trans-Alpine collaboration, uniting Savoyard Altesse grown on steep mica-schist terraces in Albertville with biodynamic Moscato from Asti in Piedmont, Italy.

## Interesting facts

- Bridges French Alpine viticulture and Italian Piedmontese grapes in a single co-fermented cuvée.
- Ages for four full years on lees in neutral oak casks before release.
- Sourced partly from century-old vines rescued on steep, high-altitude mountain terraces.

## Food pairing

The structural intensity, skin-contact texture, and vibrant Alpine acidity allow this wine to stand up to rich cheeses, roasted game birds, and dishes featuring gentle warm spices or fruit reductions.

## Wine making process

The grapes undergo a one-month whole-cluster co-maceration with daily manual pigeage in open-top fermenters. Spontaneous fermentation is driven by wild ambient yeasts. The wine ages for four full years on its lees in neutral oak barrels prior to being bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with no added sulfites.
