## Interesting facts

- Grapes travel from Greece to Sweden for winemaking.
- Wine is made at a historic Swedish ironworks.
- Part of a 'Local & Small-Scale' assortment.

## Food pairing

The wine's full body, high tannins, and pronounced flavors are well-suited to rich, protein-heavy dishes. The tannins bind with proteins in the meat, softening the wine and cleansing the palate. Herbal notes in the wine can complement similarly seasoned dishes, while the dark fruit and spice elements can stand up to robust flavors.

## Wine making process

The winemaking process for Johanna Lännabruk begins with hand-harvested grapes from Greece, which are transported in refrigerated containers to Länna Bruk Dryckeshandel in Sweden. The grapes undergo fermentation with their skins for four weeks without pressing, a technique that maximizes extraction. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in a mix of new and used oak barrels. This method is part of Länna Bruk Dryckeshandel's approach to combining traditional winemaking practices with innovative logistics.
