## About this wine

The Kelhar family has maintained a winemaking tradition in the hills of Bizeljsko, Slovenia for over 240 years. Under the leadership of winemaker Miha Kelhar and his father Marijan, Keltis has become one of Slovenia's leading biodynamic producers. The cuvée name Kelt pays homage to both the family name and the ancient Celtic tribes who historically inhabited the Posavje region. The estate operates strictly according to nature's rhythms, timing cellar operations around full moons.

## Interesting facts

- Cellar operations, racking, and bottling are timed around full moons according to biodynamic principles.
- The cuvée name Kelt honors ancient Celtic tribes who historically inhabited the Posavje region.
- Aged for 30 months in neutral 500L oak barrels without any added sulfites or filtration.

## Food pairing

The structural weight, fine tannins, and natural acidity of this biodynamic red blend match seamlessly with rich meats and earthy dishes. Natural acidity cuts through fat while savory undertones complement mushrooms and truffles.

## Wine making process

Hand-picked in early October from vines aged 16 to 35 years grown on marl and limestone soils. The grapes undergo 10 days of skin maceration followed by spontaneous fermentation with ambient yeasts in oak barrels. The wine is aged for 30 months in used 500-liter oak barrels before being bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with zero added sulfur dioxide.
