## About this wine

Kutch Wines was founded in 2005 by Jamie Kutch, who left a career in finance to pursue minimalist winemaking in Sebastopol, California. Sourced from the Salt Point Block within the historic Bohan Ranch—located just three miles from the Pacific Ocean at an elevation of 1,000 feet—this single-vineyard bottling represents extreme high-altitude coastal viticulture. Replanted in 2018 on the site of original 1972 plantings using selected Burgundian clones, the vineyard's exposure to marine winds and fog creates a unique growing environment.

## Interesting facts

## Food pairing

High natural acidity and marine-driven minerality demand fresh seafood, shellfish, and lean poultry complemented by herbs or citrus elements. The absence of heavy oak ensures delicate flavors in raw oysters and pan-seared fish are highlighted without being overwhelmed by body or alcohol.

## Wine making process

Fruit for the Salt Point Block Chardonnay is harvested by hand from high-density, extreme coastal plantings. In the cellar, whole bunches are pressed gently and fermented spontaneously using native ambient yeasts. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally. The wine undergoes aging in French oak barrels with minimal intervention, avoiding heavy manipulation or fining before bottling to preserve site transparency.
