## About this wine

L'Atypique was created by Laura Vogt, representing the third generation of Domaine Laurent Vogt alongside her parents Sylvie and Thomas Vogt. Located in Wolxheim in Alsace, the family estate manages 18 hectares under organic and Demeter biodynamic viticulture. Sourced partly from limestone-clay soils of the Grand Cru Altenberg de Wolxheim terroir, this skin-contact cuvée highlights an innovative expression of traditional Alsatian grape varieties.

## Interesting facts

- Awarded Grand Gold Medal and Jury's Choice at the 2025 World White Wine Competition with 94/100 points.
- Created by 3rd generation winemaker Laura Vogt, who also designed the wine's artistic label.
- The maiden 2022 vintage was 100% Gewurztraminer before Riesling was blended in 2023 for added freshness.

## Food pairing

The generous body, fine skin-contact tannins, and vibrant spicy aromatic profile make this orange wine ideal for rich, spiced, and savory dishes. Its bright acidity cuts through fat and complements warm spices seamlessly.

## Wine making process

Harvested by hand under strict Demeter biodynamic standards, the white grapes undergo extended skin maceration to extract subtle color, structure, and complex spice notes. Gewurztraminer provides aromatic richness and body, while Riesling adds vital acidity and structure. Fermentation occurs naturally in small batches, producing approximately 2,000 bottles per vintage.
