## About this wine

La Grange 476 was established in Menétru-le-Vignoble by Dimitri Vetois and Marion Valverde, who acquired a historic house and four hectares of prime micro-parcels in the Jura region. Farmed biodynamically, the vineyards are cultivated without chemical treatments, utilizing draft horses for traditional soil tillage. The cuvée Khir is named in honor of one of the estate's draft horses that works the steep slope vineyards around Château-Chalon.

## Interesting facts

- Named after Khir, one of the estate's Comtois draft horses used to plow the vineyards.
- Pressed manually using ancient traditional reed mats following semi-carbonic maceration.
- Aged for two full years in stainless steel vats without any oak contact or added sulfur.

## Food pairing

This lithe, high-acidity Pinot Noir pairs exceptionally well with savory mushroom dishes, duck, and charcuterie. Its vibrant acidity cuts through moderate richness without requiring heavy tannins, making it a versatile match for aged cheeses and poultry.

## Wine making process

Grapes are harvested manually in small crates and undergo a five-day semi-carbonic maceration with 100% whole bunches in stainless steel vats. Gentle pressing is conducted manually using traditional reed mats. The wine is aged on fine lees in stainless steel vats for two years to preserve varietal purity and terroir expression, then bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with zero added sulfur dioxide.
