## About this wine

La Sorga was founded in 2008 by Antony Tortul in Montagnac, located in the Languedoc region of France. Operating as a negociant-vinificateur, Tortul works exclusively with organic and biodynamic growers across Aude and Hérault. Gargantua is crafted as an approachable, highly refreshing skin-contact orange wine designed for early enjoyment.

## Interesting facts

- Producer Antony Tortul works with over 20 different indigenous grape varieties across Languedoc.
- Grapes are harvested into tiny 15 kg crates to prevent premature crushing and oxidation.
- Designed specifically in an easy-drinking 'glou-glou' style rather than a heavy amber wine.
- Features La Sorga's signature punk rock artistic label aesthetic.

## Food pairing

The high natural acidity of Colombard combined with fine skin-contact tannins allows this light orange wine to cut through rich charcuterie and creamy goat cheeses. Its refreshing, citrusy profile also makes it an excellent partner for aromatic, spiced Asian dishes.

## Wine making process

Harvested by hand in small 15 kg crates from 15-year-old Colombard vines. The whole clusters and crushed grapes undergo skin-contact maceration followed by spontaneous fermentation with wild indigenous yeasts in open tanks. The wine ages briefly on fine lees in neutral vats before being bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without any added sulfites.
