## About this wine

La Sorga was founded in 2008 by Antony Tortul in Languedoc, France. Tortul, who transitioned from industrial chemistry to natural winemaking following a chemical plant explosion in 2001, operates as a natural négociant. He sources organic and biodynamic grapes exclusively from old, isolated vineyards to avoid spray contamination. Tireur des Litres Blanc is a skin-contact natural white cuvée originating from the sandy soils and Villafranchian terraces of the Hérault Valley.

## Interesting facts

- Winemaker Antony Tortul abandoned industrial chemistry after a 2001 factory explosion to focus on natural winemaking.
- Ugni-Blanc grapes were skin-macerated for 92 days in sandstone jars before blending.
- Grapes are harvested from isolated organic and biodynamic vineyards, including 67-year-old Grenache Blanc vines.
- Zero sulfites or additives are added throughout the entire production process.

## Food pairing

The rich, textured mouthfeel and light phenolics from skin maceration, combined with vibrant acidity, allow this natural wine to match perfectly with rich meats, aromatic spices, and mature hard cheeses.

## Wine making process

The 2023 vintage blends Ugni-Blanc skin-macerated for 92 days in sandstone jars, Grenache Blanc skin-macerated for 33 days in tanks, and direct-pressed Terret Bourret. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts and zero temperature control, chemical inputs, or added sulfites. The wine is aged for 9 months on fine lees before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
