## About this wine

Azienda Agricola La Torre was established in 1976 when Giuseppe Anania relocated his family to Montalcino. Located in the high-elevation sub-zone of Sant'Angelo in Colle near La Sesta, the estate is now managed by Giuseppe's son, Luigi Ananìa. Spanning 36 hectares with around 5 hectares dedicated to Sangiovese vines averaging 40 years of age, the winery is known for its traditional organic viticulture and expressive high-altitude terroir.

## Interesting facts

- The estate vineyards sit up to 442 meters above sea level, among the highest elevations in Sant'Angelo in Colle.
- Originally purchased for agriculture and buffalo mozzarella, the family recognized the site's potential and planted Sangiovese in 1976.
- Annual production of this single-estate Brunello di Montalcino is limited to approximately 15,000 bottles.

## Food pairing

The powerful tannins, high acidity, and concentrated red fruit profile of Brunello di Montalcino demand dishes rich in protein and fat, such as grilled steak or game meats, which effectively bind to the tannins and soften the wine's astringency on the palate.

## Wine making process

Organically grown grapes are hand-harvested with strict sorting before fermenting with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel and oak vats for three weeks. The wine is aged predominantly for 42 months in large Slavonian oak casks (25–40 HL), with a small portion matured in small oak barrels to add subtle complexity. The wine is gravity-bottled unfiltered and aged according to DOCG regulations.
