## About this wine

The Jurtschitsch Langenlois Riesling 2023 is a single-varietal Riesling from the Kamptal DAC region of Lower Austria. Produced by Weingut Jurtschitsch, the wine draws grapes from selected high-altitude parcels around Langenlois, characterized by old vines rooted in mica schist and gneiss soils. The producer, led by Alwin and Stefanie Jurtschitsch, is committed to organic viticulture and preserving the Kamptal cultural landscape. The 2023 vintage saw a challenging start with variable spring weather, followed by a hot, dry summer, and a significant hailstorm necessitating careful grape selection. This Riesling aims to reflect the geological, topographical, and climatic diversity of Langenlois.

## Wine making process

The Jurtschitsch Langenlois Riesling 2023 is produced from selectively hand-harvested grapes. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, with gentle bâtonage on fine lees. For the 'Platin' bottling, grapes are pressed with low pressure as whole bunches, and the must undergoes slow fermentation at around 18°C. The wine then matures on its fine lees. The producer, Weingut Jurtschitsch, follows organic viticulture practices and aims to reflect the essence of the Langenlois region in its wines.
