## About this wine

The Langhe Nebbiolo Angelo by Mauro Veglio is a red wine from the Piedmont region of Italy, made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. The wine is named in honor of Mauro Veglio's father, Angelo, who initiated the family's winemaking legacy. Grapes are sourced from the communes of La Morra, Monforte d'Alba, and Roero, areas known for their calcareous marl soils. Mauro Veglio is recognized for his approach that respects tradition while incorporating modern techniques, drawing inspiration from Burgundian winemaking styles. The winery has maintained organic farming practices for over 20 years.

## Interesting facts

- Named 'Angelo' in tribute to the founder's father.
- Often referred to as a 'mini-Barolo' for its Nebbiolo character.
- Mauro Veglio has practiced organic farming for over two decades.

## Food pairing

The wine's medium+ tannins and acidity are well-suited to complement the richness of proteins, cutting through fat and cleansing the palate. Earthy notes in the wine can harmonize with ingredients like mushrooms and root vegetables, while its structure stands up to robust flavors.

## Wine making process

The Langhe Nebbiolo Angelo is produced from hand-harvested Nebbiolo grapes. Maceration on the skins occurs in stainless steel tanks for approximately 26 days at a controlled temperature. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are completed in stainless steel. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for a brief period in small oak barrels (barriques). The winery has been committed to organic farming practices for over two decades, avoiding chemical herbicides and utilizing natural vineyard management techniques.
