## About this wine

Weingut Leitz is a renowned producer located in Germany's Rheingau region, with family viticultural roots extending back to 1744. Johannes Leitz took over the estate in 1985 at the age of 18 when it comprised less than three hectares. Under his guidance, the winery has grown to 90 hectares, gaining international recognition for both its outstanding still Rieslings and traditional method sparkling wines. The name '60' highlights the extraordinary 60 months of lees contact this cuvée receives prior to disgorgement.

## Interesting facts

- The name '60' directly refers to the 60 months (5 full years) the wine spends aging on its yeast lees.
- Johannes Leitz took over the family winery in 1985 at just 18 years old when it was only 2.9 hectares.
- The Leitz family's winemaking heritage in the Rheingau region dates all the way back to 1744.

## Food pairing

The razor-sharp natural acidity and zero dosage of this Brut Nature Riesling Sekt easily cut through rich seafood fats and subtle cream sauces, while its autolytic yeast character harmonizes with delicate roasted proteins.

## Wine making process

Produced using the traditional method (Flaschengärung) from 100% Rheingau Riesling grapes grown on slate and quartzite soils. Following initial fermentation, secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle, where the wine rests on its lees for a full 60 months (5 years) before disgorgement. The wine is released as Brut Nature with zero added dosage to maintain pristine purity and structure.
