## About this wine

Reuilly Les Pierres Plates is a 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the AOC Reuilly in the Loire Valley's Centre Loire sub-region. The wine originates from the 'Les Pierres Plates' vineyard, known for its Kimmeridgian limestone, clay, sand, gravel, and fossilized shell soil. This terroir contributes a notable minerality and chalky character. Domaine de Reuilly, founded in 1935, is managed by Denis Jamain, who continues a family legacy with a strong emphasis on organic and biodynamic farming practices, aiming to reveal the essence of the terroir through living soils. The 2023 vintage is noted for its bright, textured profile and fresh finish.

## Interesting facts

- The 'Les Pierres Plates' vineyard shares its limestone soil with Chablis and Champagne.
- Domaine de Reuilly is a pioneer in organic and biodynamic farming in its region.
- The 'Les Pierres Plates' cuvée was first produced in 1998.
- The wine is certified organic and biodynamic, making it vegan-friendly.

## Food pairing

The wine's bright acidity and minerality cut through the richness of seafood and creamy elements, while its citrus notes complement herb-infused dishes. The chalky character provides a refreshing counterpoint to the salinity of oysters and the tang of goat cheese.

## Wine making process

The Reuilly Les Pierres Plates is produced from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Following harvest, the grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for five months on its fine lees, also in stainless steel, to develop texture and complexity. This winemaking approach deliberately avoids any oak influence, aiming to showcase the purity of the grape and the minerality derived from the vineyard's Kimmeridgian limestone soil. The Domaine de Reuilly is committed to organic and biodynamic farming principles.
