## About this wine

Llewelyn is a low-intervention producer founded in 2021 by winemaker Pete Bloomberg in Cloverdale, California. Sourced from organic, dry-farmed 60+ year-old vines at the historic Lolonis Vineyard in Mendocino County's Redwood Valley, this cuvée takes its name from Moby's iconic ambient track 'God Moving Over the Face of the Waters'. The wine balances bright coastal fog influence and warm inland daytime temperatures to create a uniquely complex expression of California Chardonnay.

## Interesting facts

- Named after Moby's 1995 ambient track 'God Moving Over the Face of the Waters'.
- Sourced from 1960s dry-farmed, organic Chardonnay vines at Lolonis Vineyard.
- Employs Jura-style flor aging alongside traditional topped barrel aging.

## Food pairing

The high electric acidity cuts cleanly through rich meats and butter sauce, while the nutty, flor-influenced undertones create a perfect harmony with aged hard cheeses and savory, umami-driven wild mushroom dishes.

## Wine making process

Fermented spontaneously in barrel using indigenous yeasts with zero enological additives. The 2024 vintage blends topped-up barrels (ouille) with un-topped barrels aged under a layer of flor (non-ouille, sous voile style), introducing subtle oxidative character. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered with zero or minimal added sulfur dioxide.
