## About this wine

Oriol Artigas studied chemistry before discovering his passion for viticulture, eventually establishing his estate in 2011 in Alella, just 15 kilometers north of Barcelona. Alella is one of Spain's smallest appellations, known for its granite sand soils known locally as sauló. The Lloritu cuvée comes from the 60-year-old Mas Granell parcel, planted with historic hybrid vine varieties that reflect the ancient viticultural heritage of the Mediterranean coastline.

## Interesting facts

- Sourced from the 60-year-old Mas Granell parcel planted with rare hybrid grape varieties.
- Alella is one of Spain’s smallest wine appellations, spanning around 220 hectares.
- Extremely limited micro-cuvée with only around 1,152 bottles produced.

## Food pairing

This vibrant natural red wine features high coastal acidity and gentle tannins, making it exceptionally versatile with Mediterranean cuisine, cured meats, and grilled tender meats without overpowering delicate flavors.

## Wine making process

The grapes are hand-harvested from 60-year-old vines in the Mas Granell vineyard and co-fermented using indigenous wild yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The grapes undergo a short maceration of two days before being pressed. Fermentation finishes spontaneously without temperature control. The wine is aged on its gross lees for 8 to 11 months in stainless steel before bottling without fining, filtration, or added sulfites.
