## About this wine

Tenuta Vallocaia is the Tuscan estate of Swiss wine merchant Rudi Bindella, who established the winery near Montepulciano in 1983. Under the winemaking direction of Giovanni Capuano, the estate emphasizes site-specific viticulture, biodiversity, and authentic terroir expression. Although Montepulciano is world-renowned for red Sangiovese wines, Bindella has dedicated parcels to crafting distinctive white wines. The Luna a Vallocaia cuvée is sourced from the Camparone vineyard, situated at 270 to 280 meters elevation on silty-sandy soils.

## Interesting facts

- Montepulciano is famous for red wines, but Luna a Vallocaia showcases Bindella's dedicated white winemaking.
- Beginning with the 2023 vintage, this cuvée shifted from a blend to a 100% single-varietal Grechetto formulation.
- The grapes are sourced from the Camparone vineyard, planted in 2019 in silty-sandy Tuscan soils.

## Food pairing

The bright acidity and medium body of this un-oaked white wine pair seamlessly with fresh seafood, light pasta dishes, and young cheeses. Its crisp citrus profile cuts through light richness without overwhelming delicate ingredients.

## Wine making process

Grapes are harvested by hand with parcel-by-parcel selection to ensure optimal maturity. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks kept at low temperatures of 12 to 14°C to safeguard primary fruit aromas. The wine matures for approximately four months in stainless steel tanks followed by two months of bottle aging prior to market release.
