## About this wine

Marie de Beauregard is a premium range of wines crafted by the Saget family, who have been making wine in the Loire Valley for nine generations since 1790. Sourced from a single estate in the village of La Roche Corbon, adjacent to Vouvray, this wine represents a deep partnership spanning over a decade. The estate is certified HVE3 Sustainable, reflecting a commitment to environmental stewardship in the historic Touraine region.

## Interesting facts

- The wine is named after the wife of the original owner of the historic water mill where the Saget family cellars and ages their wines.
- Saget La Perrière is the only family-run company with an estate presence in all four subregions of the Loire Valley.
- The 2010 vintage of this wine achieved the prestigious #48 spot on Wine Spectator's Top 100 list.

## Food pairing

The off-dry style and high acidity of this Vouvray make it an incredibly versatile pairing partner. The touch of residual sugar beautifully balances the heat of spicy Asian dishes, while the vibrant acidity cuts through the richness of roasted meats, foie gras, and creamy blue cheeses. The wine's textured mid-palate and subtle oak notes also complement fruit-based desserts like apple tarts.

## Wine making process

The grapes are mechanically harvested in early October and undergo a slow, gentle pressing in a pneumatic press. After a two-day static cold settling to clarify the must, fermentation is initiated naturally by wild yeasts. The wine is then aged in second- and third-use French oak barrels. This neutral oak program allows the wine to develop a rich, creamy texture and subtle complexity without overpowering the pure, vibrant fruit character of the Chenin Blanc.
