## About this wine

Marie and Vincent Tricot relocated to Auvergne in 2002 after honing their winemaking skills in Anjou and Nîmes, establishing their domaine near the village of Orcet. Recognized as central pioneers of the natural wine movement in the region, they farm organically and biodynamically on unique volcanic soils. In true family fashion, the distinct labels for their wines are hand-drawn by their daughters, Orane and Manoë.

## Interesting facts

- The distinctive bottle label is hand-drawn by Marie and Vincent's daughters.
- The estate relinquished AOC status in 2007 to retain natural winemaking freedom.
- Vines are grown in volcanic basalt gravel combined with clay and limestone.

## Food pairing

The wine's vibrant acidity, saline volcanic minerality, and textured mouthfeel make it extremely versatile. Its crisp acidity cuts through fat and butter, while its savory depth complements raw seafood, delicate white meat, and fresh goat cheese.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested in 2024 using a two-pass picking method to balance early-harvest mineral tension with late-harvest fruit concentration. The Chardonnay undergoes whole-cluster direct pneumatic pressing followed by spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in neutral tanks. The wine undergoes complete malolactic fermentation and ages for 6 to 12 months on fine lees in neutral oak barrels and terracotta jars. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with zero added sulfur.
