## About this wine

Marion Navoiseau established her domain in Mancey in 2015 after a career in the wider wine industry. Deeply committed to biodiversity and the protection of the land, she heavily prioritizes soil conservation and chemical-free farming, achieving organic certification in 2022. For nearly a decade, Marion carefully tended her vines but sold all her harvested grapes to the local Mâcon cooperative. The 2023 vintage marks her spectacular emergence as an independent winemaker, making this Bourgogne Rouge her very first estate-vinified and bottled red wine from her tiny 4.8-hectare estate.

## Interesting facts

- The 2023 vintage is the historic first release where Marion Navoiseau vinified and bottled her own estate grapes rather than selling to a co-op.
- The vines are grown on two elevated plateaus in Mancey and Tournus, offering optimal south-to-southeast sun exposure all day.
- The estate transitioned to certified organic farming in 2022, emphasizing biodiversity and natural grass cover between rows.

## Food pairing

This light-to-medium-bodied Pinot Noir thrives on its vibrant acidity and soft tannins. It pairs beautifully with classic French dishes that match its earthy undertones and bright red fruit, such as roasted poultry or slow-cooked beef. The high acidity cuts through the richness of duck or mild cheeses without overpowering them.

## Wine making process

The grapes are 100% hand-harvested from unique clay-limestone plots situated on two elevated plateaus in Mancey and Tournus. After 100% destemming, the fruit undergoes cold maceration and fermentation over 10 to 12 days. The wine is aged for 12 months, with 50% maturing in traditional 228-liter Burgundian oak barrels (15% new) and the remaining 50% in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve primary fruit freshness. The components are carefully blended before bottling.
