## About this wine

Marsannay is unique in Burgundy as the only village-level AOC allowed to produce red, white, and rosé wines. Local vignerons created Marsannay Rosé in 1919 as a festive wine, but consulting oenologist Sylvain Pataille completely redefined the category. Through his Fleur de Pinot cuvée, Pataille treats rosé with the same seriousness and long barrel-aging reserved for top Grand Crus, placing Marsannay Rosé on the map of world-class fine wines.

## Interesting facts

- Marsannay is the only village AOC in Burgundy permitted to bottle red, white, and rosé wines.
- Sourced from old vines planted as far back as 1932 on limestone soils typically reserved for whites.
- Aged up to 24 months in large wooden casks, an unprecedented aging duration for rosé.

## Food pairing

This serious rosé possesses the structural weight, vibrant acidity, and light tannic grip of a light red Burgundy paired with the tension of a white wine. Rich duck, pork, and washed-rind cheeses complement its texture, while high acid cuts cleanly through fat.

## Wine making process

Crafted from 50 to 90-year-old vines grown on limestone-rich white marls. Winemaking combines direct press with two to four days of skin maceration before a slow six-to-eight-hour vertical pressing. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with ambient yeasts. The wine ages for 18 to 24 months in older 600-liter oak demi-muids and 48 hL foudres, bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur additions.
