## About this wine

Bodegas Maset, historically known as Maset del Lleó, is located in the Alt Penedès region of Catalonia, Spain. The estate's history dates back to 1777, with the family crafting their first traditional sparkling wine in 1917. Today, spanning ten generations, the winery is celebrated for its commitment to quality and its innovative direct-to-consumer model, making boutique Catalan wines highly accessible.

## Interesting facts

- The estate's history dates back to 1777, when founder Pau Massana was born at the Maset del Lleó estate.
- Features Trepat, a rare indigenous Catalan grape that provides vibrant acidity, wild berry notes, and a touch of white pepper.
- Bodegas Maset won 'World's Best Cava' at the CSWWC 2025 for their 1917 Magnum Gran Reserva.

## Food pairing

This sparkling rosé works beautifully due to its high acidity and effervescence, which cut through rich fats in salmon and pork, while its delicate red fruit profile complements light meats and cured charcuterie without overpowering them.

## Wine making process

Crafted using the traditional method (Método Tradicional). Grapes undergo gentle pressing, followed by primary fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks on the lees for up to six months. The secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle, where the wine is aged on its lees (en rima) in underground cellars for a minimum of 12 months before disgorgement.
