## About this wine

Founded in 2006 by Barbara and Giuseppe Pusceddu in Villasimius, Sardinia, Meigamma takes its name from the Sardinian word for an after-lunch nap. Located just 500 meters from the Mediterranean Sea, the estate embodies a slow-living philosophy across vineyards, olive groves, and beehives. While Cannonau is traditionally vinified into robust red wines in Sardinia, Meigamma produces a delicate, fresh rosé interpretation from vines planted in sandy coastal soils.

## Interesting facts

- The name 'Meigamma' is Sardinian for an after-lunch nap, reflecting the estate's slow-living philosophy.
- Vineyards sit just 500 meters from the Mediterranean Sea in granitic sandy soil.
- Extremely limited artisanal production of approximately 2,000 bottles per vintage.

## Food pairing

The wine's bright acidity, refreshing salinity, and delicate red fruit profile complement lighter seafood, Mediterranean vegetables, and fresh pasta without overpowering subtle flavors. High acidity cuts through soft oils while avoiding high-tannin clashes with fish.

## Wine making process

Grapes are hand-harvested in early September from 1.1 hectares of organically farmed vines. The winemaking involves a short skin maceration of 12 to 18 hours, followed by gentle pneumatic pressing. Spontaneous fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts in old oak vats using a pied de cuve. The wine ages on noble lees in neutral oak barriques for 6 to 12 months before being bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without added sulfites.
