## About this wine

The Domaine de la Côte 'Memorious' Pinot Noir 2021 originates from the Sta. Rita Hills appellation in California. This wine is a single-varietal Pinot Noir from the estate's smallest vineyard parcel, 'Memorious,' which spans approximately three acres. The vineyard is situated on a bedrock of Monterey Shale with alluvial deposits and heavy clay soils. Vines are planted at extremely high densities and are farmed organically. The estate itself was purchased by Rajat Parr and Sashi Moorman in 2013, who are committed to an "add nothing; take nothing away" philosophy across their six Sta. Rita Hills vineyards.

## Interesting facts

- Vineyard is only 3 acres.
- Planted at 4,000-7,000 vines per acre.
- Farmed organically.
- 7 miles from the Pacific Ocean.

## Food pairing

The wine's light body and energetic acidity make it versatile. It can cut through the richness of duck or pork, while its subtle herbal and earthy notes complement dishes featuring mushrooms or root vegetables. The delicate fruit profile pairs well with poultry and fish without overpowering them.

## Wine making process

The 'Memorious' Pinot Noir 2021 is produced using whole-cluster fermentation in open concrete tanks. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes a 12-month aging period, with 30% of the wine matured in new French oak barrels. The estate's winemaking practices are guided by a philosophy of minimal intervention, aiming to preserve the inherent characteristics of the grapes and the vineyard.
