## About this wine

Montevetrano Rosso Colli di Salerno IGT is a red wine from Campania, Italy, produced by Azienda Agricola Montevetrano. The wine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Aglianico, and 20% Merlot. It originates from vineyards located on historic, limestone-rich terraces on Monte Soprano. The winery was established by Silvia Imparato with guidance from enologist Riccardo Cotarella, aiming to create a wine that reflects its terroir in a contemporary style. The wine is recognized for its distinctive blend of international and indigenous grape varieties, often referred to as a 'SuperCampano' style.

## Interesting facts

- A pioneering 'SuperCampano' blend.
- Grapes grown on historic limestone terraces.

- A testament to modern winemaking in Campania.

## Food pairing

The wine's full body and robust tannins are well-suited to rich, protein-heavy dishes. The wine's structure can cut through the fattiness of meats, while its complex fruit and oak notes complement savory and herbaceous elements in the food.

## Wine making process

Montevetrano Rosso Colli di Salerno IGT is produced through separate vinification of its constituent grape varieties. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel for about 20 days, featuring long skin maceration. Prior to fermentation, 15% of the juice is bled off (saignée). The wine is then aged for 14 months in new French oak barriques, followed by at least 6 months of bottle aging. Manual harvesting is consistently employed.
