## About this wine

Located in Ceglo within the Goriška Brda region along the Italian border, Movia has been owned and operated by the Kristančič family since 1820. Spanning eight generations, the estate is world-renowned for its biodynamic viticulture and non-interventionalist winemaking philosophy. This Pét-Nat cuvée was spearheaded by Lan Kristančič, providing an approachable and energetic expression of the estate's steep, hillside vineyards cultivated on ancient flysch soils.

## Interesting facts

- Bottled under crown cap using Méthode Ancestrale to naturally trap CO2 without disgorgement.
- Vineyards are planted on 'Ponca' soil, a unique flysch formed of layered marl, sandstone, and limestone.
- Spearheaded by Lan Kristančič, representing the eighth generation of the Movia winemaking family.

## Food pairing

The high natural acidity and lively carbonation cut effortlessly through rich oils in raw seafood and creamy dips, while the mineral undertones elevate delicate raw fish and fresh herbaceous cheeses.

## Wine making process

Crafted via the Méthode Ancestrale using organically grown Rebula and Chardonnay grapes. The fruit undergoes a 24-hour cold skin maceration before gentle pressing. Spontaneous co-fermentation begins with native ambient yeasts in a pied de cuve. While fermentation is still active at around 15 g/L residual sugar, the wine is bottled under crown cap to trap natural carbonation. It is aged without disgorgement, unfined, unfiltered, and bottled with zero added sulfur and zero dosage.
