## About this wine

NeroSanloré is a 100% Nero d'Avola from Sicily, produced by Gulfi. The vineyard, Vigna San Lorenzo, is situated close to the sea on sandy red soil, contributing a unique saline character. The vines are over 40 years old and are trained in the alberello system, with low yields. Gulfi, established in 1996, is a family winery committed to expressing Sicilian terroir through organic farming and a blend of tradition and innovation. The wine is classified as Terre Siciliane IGT or DOC Sicilia Rosso.

## Interesting facts

- Vineyard is only 700 meters from the sea.
- Grapes grown on sandy, red soil.
- Vines are trained in the traditional 'alberello' bush system.
- Low yields ensure grape concentration.

## Food pairing

The wine's full body and fine, velvety tannins are well-suited to rich protein dishes, where they can complement the meat's texture and flavor. The wine's inherent complexity and subtle saline notes can also bridge with savory herbs and earthy ingredients.

## Wine making process

The winemaking process for NeroSanloré involves long maceration on the skins during fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for approximately 24 months in 500-liter tonneaux, with a minimum of one year of bottle aging before release. Grapes are hand-harvested starting in mid-September. The vineyard is farmed organically without irrigation.
