## About this wine

Domaine Michel Noëllat is a historic family estate based in Vosne-Romanée, currently managed by the fifth and sixth generations of the Noëllat family. The estate spans over 27 hectares across some of the Côte de Nuits' most prestigious appellations. This Nuits-Saint-Georges Village is sourced from carefully selected parcels within the appellation, showcasing the classic, structured, and deeply expressive character of the terroir. The 2022 vintage in Burgundy was marked by excellent ripeness and balance, yielding wines with vibrant fruit and refined structures.

## Interesting facts

- The estate is run by siblings Alain and Jean-Marc Noëllat, alongside their children, preserving a multi-generational family legacy.
- Nuits-Saint-Georges has no Grand Cru vineyards, but its top Premier Crus and Village wines are highly regarded for their power and longevity.
- The 2022 vintage is celebrated in Burgundy for delivering both exceptional quality and generous yields after several frost-bitten years.

## Food pairing

The structured tannins and vibrant acidity of this Nuits-Saint-Georges make it an exceptional partner for rich, earthy dishes. It pairs beautifully with game birds, duck, and classic Burgundian beef dishes, where the wine's acidity cuts through the richness while its red fruit notes complement savory, herbal flavors.

## Wine making process

The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and undergo rigorous sorting both in the vineyard and at the winery. The fruit is 100% destemmed before a cold pre-fermentation maceration to extract pure fruit aromas and color. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with regular punching down (pigeage) and pumping over (remontage). The wine is then aged for approximately 15 to 18 months in French oak barrels (typically around 30% new oak) to add complexity and round out the tannins before bottling.
