## About this wine

The Ochetti Langhe Nebbiolo DOC from Renato Ratti is a 2023 vintage red wine from the Piedmont region of Italy, made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. Historically significant and appreciated by nobility, the wine's label pays homage to 18th-century Piedmontese soldiers. The grapes are primarily sourced from the Ochetti vineyard in Monteu Roero, known for its sandy soils, contributing to the wine's elegant and aromatic profile. Renato Ratti, a pioneering producer, and his son Pietro are dedicated to crafting Nebbiolo that embodies fragrance, elegance, and drinkability, remaining faithful to the wine's origins.

## Interesting facts

## Food pairing

The wine's bright acidity and fine tannins cut through the richness of red meats and fatty dishes, while its aromatic profile complements earthy flavors like truffles and herbs. Dishes with savory sauces and moderate spice are well-matched.

## Wine making process

The 2023 Ochetti Langhe Nebbiolo DOC is produced from handpicked Nebbiolo grapes harvested in October. The grapes are de-stemmed and pressed, then undergo alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at 30°C, with maceration on the skins lasting 5-10 days. Malolactic fermentation occurs in steel vats in November. The wine is subsequently aged in steel containers, a process chosen to maintain its fresh and aromatic character. This approach aligns with the producer's philosophy of creating an elegant, fragrant, and harmonious Nebbiolo with smooth tannins and excellent drinkability.
