## About this wine

Vinícola de Nulles was founded in 1917 following the phylloxera crisis as a historic cooperative effort of local Catalan growers in Alt Camp, Tarragona. The winery building is an architectural landmark known as a Cathedral of Wine, constructed between 1917 and 1921 by Cèsar Martinell, a disciple of Antoni Gaudí. The estate organic vineyards are situated 18 km from the Mediterranean coast at an elevation of 230 to 250 meters, benefiting from cool maritime breezes and mineral-rich calcareous clay soils.

## Interesting facts

- Named after the parabolic clay arches designed by Gaudí disciple Cèsar Martinell in 1917.
- The winery parabolic arches double as a natural thermal umbrella regulating fermentation temperatures.
- Vineyards are located just 18 km from the Mediterranean coast on calcareous clay soils.

## Food pairing

This fresh, fruit-forward young red wine with soft tannins and lively Mediterranean acidity pairs naturally with savory, rich, and moderately seasoned dishes. Its bright structure cuts through fat in pork and cured meats, while complementing rich tomato pasta sauces and grilled specialties.

## Wine making process

Grapes are organically farmed and harvested by hand by grower-members of the cooperative. In the cellar, the fruit undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts followed by a two-week maceration on grape skins in stainless steel tanks. The wine is produced strictly without oak contact to retain pure fruit expression, and is bottled young, unfined, unfiltered, and with minimal added sulfites.
