## About this wine

First launched in 1994, Penfolds Reserve Bin A has become one of Australia's benchmark single-region cool-climate Chardonnays. The number on the label changes every year to reflect the vintage, printed as Reserve Bin 25A for 2025. Sourced exclusively from the elevated slopes of the Adelaide Hills in South Australia, it reflects a Burgundian-inspired approach to Australian winemaking. Founded in 1844 by Dr. Christopher and Mary Penfold at Magill Estate, Penfolds is celebrated worldwide for its prestigious white wine program under Chief White Winemaker Kym Schroeter.

## Interesting facts

- The vintage year is printed directly into the bin number on the label, making this release Reserve Bin 25A.
- First launched in 1994, it has become one of Australia's most acclaimed cool-climate Chardonnay benchmark wines.
- Crafted with 100% natural malolactic fermentation and wild barrel ferments in French oak barriques.

## Food pairing

Rich, cool-climate Chardonnay with extensive lees stirring and oak aging pairs perfectly with buttery seafood, succulent poultry with cream sauces, and nutty aged hard cheeses that match its weight and textural depth while benefiting from its vibrant natural acidity.

## Wine making process

Hand-picked grapes are whole-bunch pressed directly into French oak barriques (58% new oak). Fermentation takes place entirely in barrel, with a portion undergoing natural wild fermentation without yeast inoculation. The wine undergoes 100% natural malolactic fermentation and is matured for 8 months in French oak on yeast lees with regular battonage to build rich texture and mouthfeel.
