## About this wine

The Marigny is a project by winemaker Andrew Reginald Young under the St. Reginald Parish umbrella, located in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Known for pushing the boundaries of traditional Oregon winemaking, The Marigny focuses on approachable, low-intervention, and highly drinkable natural wines. This Carbonic Maceration Pinot Noir is a playful, modern take on the region's signature grape, designed to be fun, accessible, and thoroughly enjoyed without pretension.

## Interesting facts

- Winemaker Andrew Reginald Young started The Marigny to make 'real wine for real people' without the usual stuffiness.
- Carbonic maceration is the same technique famously used in Beaujolais Nouveau to create ultra-fruity, low-tannin wines.
- This wine is intentionally designed to be served chilled, making it an incredibly refreshing red for warm weather.

## Food pairing

With its high acidity, low tannins, and bright red fruit profile, this carbonic Pinot Noir acts much like a heavy rosé or a light, vibrant red. It pairs beautifully with fatty fish like salmon, roasted poultry, and earthy mushroom dishes. Serving it chilled helps cut through rich charcuterie and cheese while keeping the pairing fresh and lively.

## Wine making process

This wine undergoes 100% carbonic maceration, a process where whole clusters of Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in a sealed, carbon dioxide-rich environment. This intracellular fermentation extracts vibrant fruit flavors and color while minimizing tannin extraction. The wine is fermented using native yeasts, aged in neutral vessels to preserve its fresh fruit character, and bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur additions.
