## About this wine

Planeta Rosé Sicilia DOC is produced by Aziende Agricole Planeta s.s., a family winery with deep Sicilian roots. The 2023 vintage is crafted from a blend of 40% Nero d'Avola, 40% Syrah, and 20% other varieties including Sauvignon Blanc, grown in the Menfi region. The vineyards are situated at moderate elevations with chalky, limey soils. Planeta is committed to sustainable and organic viticulture, with the 2023 harvest occurring from late August to early September, influenced by local weather patterns.

## Interesting facts

- Vineyards are located near the Mediterranean coast.
- Certified organic and adheres to SOStain® protocol.
- Color is often compared to a summer sunset.

## Food pairing

The wine's crispness and subtle acidity cut through richer flavors, while its fruity notes complement seafood and light meats. Its refreshing character makes it an excellent counterpoint to salty or fried dishes.

## Wine making process

Planeta Rosé is made from grapes that undergo a brief maceration of about one hour for color. The resulting must is statically decanted, and the clear portion ferments in stainless steel tanks at 14-16°C for 8-10 days. Following fermentation, the wine is aged in stainless steel and stirred weekly on its fine lees to enhance its color, aromas, and texture. The grapes are harvested from vineyards located at 70-75 meters elevation in Menfi, with soils described as chalky and moderately limey.
