## About this wine

Rose & Arrow Estate is an ambitious project in Oregon's Willamette Valley, founded by Mark Tarlov alongside legendary Burgundian winemaker Louis-Michel Liger-Belair and world-renowned terroir expert Pedro Parra. The project focuses on mapping the complex volcanic basalt soils of the region to produce Pinot Noir of extraordinary precision and minerality. 'The Point' is sourced from a specific parcel in the Chehalem Highlands, characterized by shallow, stony soils over fractured basalt, yielding a wine of remarkable tension, depth, and terroir expression.

## Interesting facts

- Co-founded by Louis-Michel Liger-Belair of the iconic Vosne-Romanée estate, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair.
- Terroir consultant Pedro Parra spent years digging hundreds of pits to map the exact basalt structures of the vineyards.
- The Point refers to a specific geological formation where the basalt bedrock comes closest to the surface.

## Food pairing

The high acidity and elegant, medium-bodied structure of this premium Pinot Noir cut through rich, fatty meats like duck and pork belly, while its earthy, mineral undertones perfectly mirror the savory depth of wild mushrooms and truffles.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested grapes undergo meticulous sorting. Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts in small, open-top fermenters with minimal extraction to preserve the delicate fruit and mineral nuances. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, curated by Liger-Belair with a low percentage of new oak, for approximately 12 to 15 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered to maintain its structural integrity.
