## About this wine

Lammidia was founded by childhood friends Davide Gentile and Marco Giuliani in Villa Celiera, Abruzzo. The winery's name translates from local dialect to 'envy' or 'the evil eye.' During their first vintage, fermentation failed to start until Grandma Antonia performed a traditional ritual to ward off bad fortune. Today, they adhere strictly to a philosophy of '100% Uva e Basta' (100% Grapes and That's It), producing expressive natural wines without synthetic inputs or modern enological adjustments.

## Interesting facts

- La 'mmidia translates to 'the evil eye', which Grandma Antonia wards off before every harvest.
- Blending red Montepulciano with white Trebbiano began by accident during a small harvest.
- 'Rosh' is derived from the local Abruzzese dialect word meaning 'red'.
- The estate operates under a strict philosophy known as '100% Uva e Basta' (100% Grapes and That's It).

## Food pairing

This light-bodied natural red exhibits bright acidity, gentle tannins, and vibrant red fruit characteristics. Its fresh and juicy nature pairs seamlessly with traditional Abruzzese cuisine, cured meats, and acidic tomato sauce dishes without overpowering delicate flavors.

## Wine making process

The cuvée is crafted from co-fermented Montepulciano and Trebbiano using strictly indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks. Whole clusters undergo a short maceration of 5 to 7 days with daily manual punch-downs and a submerged cap. Fermentation and aging take place entirely in concrete and fiberglass vessels without oak contact. Bottling occurs without fining, filtration, or added sulfites.
