## About this wine

Montenidoli, meaning mountain of little nests, is located on the hills of San Gimignano in Tuscany. The estate spans 200 hectares of forests, olive groves, and vineyards. In 1965, Elisabetta Fagiuoli and Sergio Muratori began restoring this ancient property, dedicating themselves to organic farming and protecting the land's native ecosystem. Proceeds from select cuvées fund the Sergio the Patriarch Foundation, supporting programs for youth and elderly communities.

## Interesting facts

- Montenidoli translates to mountain of little nests due to the abundant bird life on the estate.
- Select cuvée sales help fund the Sergio the Patriarch Foundation supporting youth and senior communities.
- The estate vineyards sit atop ancient Triassic marine sediments filled with fossilized sea life.

## Food pairing

The wine's bright acidity and structured tannins cut through rich fats and proteins, while its savory herbs and dark fruit complement charred meats and rich ragù sauces.

## Wine making process

Viticulture is strictly organic, certified by ICEA, utilizing natural composting and earthworm humus aeration instead of synthetic treatments. Grapes are grown on Triassic soils composed of marine sediment and fossils. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in glass-lined concrete vats. The wine undergoes maceration to extract pure varietal character before aging in neutral French oak barriques and tonneaux, followed by further refinement in concrete and bottle prior to release.
