## About this wine

In a region famous almost exclusively for rosé, Rouge et Or represents Château Minuty's commitment to producing serious, gastronomic Provencal red wines. Acquired by Gabriel Farnet in 1936 and designated a Cru Classé Côtes de Provence in 1955, Château Minuty is located in Gassin on the Saint-Tropez peninsula. Managed by the Matton family in partnership with Moët Hennessy, the estate leverages selected plots planted on crystalline mica-schist and clay soils to showcase the potential of coastal Mourvèdre.

## Interesting facts

- While Provence is renowned for rosé, Château Minuty crafts this serious red wine dominated by 90% Mourvèdre.
- Château Minuty was designated a Cru Classé Côtes de Provence in 1955.
- The vines grow on rare mica-schist and clay soils on the coastal Saint-Tropez peninsula.

## Food pairing

This medium-to-full-bodied red wine features fine, structured tannins and vibrant acidity, making it an exceptional match for rich, savory red meats like lamb and slow-cooked beef daube. The structural backbone cuts through protein and fat, while subtle spice notes pair seamlessly with gently spiced dishes like tandoori chicken.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested from certified High Environmental Value (HVE) vineyards, grapes undergo strict temperature control during alcoholic fermentation to preserve fruit aromas. Full malolactic fermentation is carried out in oak barrels, followed by aging for slightly under one year in French oak barrels, incorporating a proportion of new oak.
