## About this wine

Schplïnk! Grüner Veltliner is a collaboration between Weingut Norbert Bauer, an 11th-generation family winery operating in Austria's Weinviertel region since 1721, and Communal Brands, founded by Master of Wine Melissa Saunders. Produced in an eco-conscious 3-liter bag-in-box format, the wine reimagines traditional Austrian house wine. The package design draws inspiration from 1980s tech culture, referencing early Apple computers and Kraftwerk's album Computer Love.

## Food pairing

The vibrant, high acidity and signature white pepper character of Grüner Veltliner cut through breaded meats, rich fats, and creamy fresh cheeses while pairing naturally with green vegetables.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested early in the morning from sustainable vineyards in the Pulkautal area planted on clay loess and limestone soils. Grapes are de-stemmed and gently pressed with a 12-hour cold skin maceration to enhance aromatic extraction. Spontaneous fermentation lasts approximately 22 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine ages on fine lees in stainless steel without oak contact, preserving natural freshness and subtle CO2 before fine filtration and packaging.
