## About this wine

Señorío de Rubiós Albariño is the flagship white wine of Bodegas Coto Redondo, located in the O Condado do Tea sub-region of Rías Baixas, Galicia. Unlike the cooler coastal sub-regions, this inland mountain zone bordering Portugal features a warmer microclimate that imparts a richer, rounder stone-fruit character and an unctuous, glyceric mouthfeel to the Albariño grape, while maintaining its signature Atlantic salinity.

## Interesting facts

- The 2022 vintage was awarded the prestigious Gran Bacchus de Oro 2023, the highest honor at the Concurso Internacional Bacchus.
- The vines are grown on Mount San Nomedio at 200 meters elevation and trained using the traditional elevated pergola (emparrado) system to maximize ventilation in Galicia's humid climate.
- Bodegas Coto Redondo was founded in 2003 by a cooperative of 57 local growers, which has since grown to over 100 members.

## Food pairing

This crisp, high-acid white wine with distinct saline minerality pairs beautifully with fresh seafood and shellfish, cutting through light richness while complementing delicate ocean flavors.

## Wine making process

The hand-harvested Albariño grapes are destemmed, crushed, and gently pressed. After cold-settling for 24 to 30 hours, the clean must is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 18ºC. The wine is racked off its heavy lees, undergoes cold stabilization at -5ºC for one week to prevent tartaric crystallization, and is filtered before bottling. No oak is used to preserve the fresh, primary fruit characteristics.
