## About this wine

Bikicki Winery was established in 2013 by Đorđe Bikicki, a former Belgrade DJ and basketball player who shifted his focus to low-intervention winemaking in Serbia's Fruška Gora region. Situated on the northern slopes of Mount Fruška Gora in Banoštor along the Danube River, the vineyards benefit from a unique meso-climate and soils rich in volcanic marl, limestone, and ancient marine sediment. Guided by organic viticulture and minimal cellar intervention, Bikicki produces distinctive natural wines that capture the authentic spirit of this historical terroir.

## Interesting facts

- The 2025 release features 6 distinct label designs randomly mixed in every 6-bottle case.
- Founder Đorđe Bikicki was a Belgrade drum 'n' bass DJ and basketball player before making wine.
- Only 2,219 bottles of Sfera Orange were produced for the entire 2025 vintage.
- Mount Fruška Gora was an island in the ancient Pannonian Sea millions of years ago.

## Food pairing

Skin-contact orange wines combine the fresh acidity of white wine with light phenolic tannins reminiscent of red wine. This unique profile bridges the gap between delicate and heavy dishes, matching well with flavorful poultry, glazed pork, aromatic spices, and savory mushroom textures.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested on August 17, 2025, from the Milino brdo plot, the grapes were co-fermented as a field blend using indigenous yeasts. The wine underwent 10 days of skin contact via carbonic maceration. After fermentation, it aged for 9 months in used oak barrels before being bottled unfined and unfiltered, with a total sulfur dioxide level kept exceptionally low at 32 mg/L.
