## About this wine

Ljungbyholms Vingård is a family-owned estate situated on the Bjäre Peninsula in Skåne, Sweden, operated by Annika and Joakim Palm. Established in 2019 with an initial trial plot of under 100 vines, the vineyard has expanded to 3.5 hectares with approximately 10,000 vines. Located on south-facing slopes near the coast, the site benefits from a maritime influence that tempers the climate. Soläng is the estate's flagship white expression made from Solaris, demonstrating the impressive quality possible in cool-climate Swedish viticulture.

## Interesting facts

- Ljungbyholms Vingård grew from fewer than 100 trial vines in 2019 to over 10,000 vines within a few years.
- Unlike many Swedish Solaris wines fermented in stainless steel, Soläng undergoes full barrel fermentation and lees contact.
- Soläng naturally reaches a powerful 15% ABV while retaining vibrant cool-climate acidity.

## Food pairing

The high alcohol content, rich texture, and subtle oak maturation of Soläng require dishes with substance, rich sauces, or natural fats. At the same time, its high cool-climate acidity seamlessly cuts through rich butter or cream sauces, maintaining freshness across each bite.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested in late September, the grapes are processed and the must is transferred directly into oak barrels. Fermentation takes place over approximately one month inside the barrels. Following fermentation, the wine is aged on its fine lees in oak for roughly six months prior to bottling in lightweight glass bottles using natural cork closures.
