## About this wine

Solidarität Red is crafted by Franz Reinhard Weninger at Weingut Weninger in Mittelburgenland, Austria. Conceived as a 'wine of access' to foster fellowship and community during uncertain social and economic times, this cuvée blends organically and biodynamically grown grapes from estate vineyards in Horitschon and Ritzing. Weingut Weninger is renowned as a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture across the Austrian-Hungarian border regions, focusing on vibrant living soil and authentic regional character.

## Interesting facts

- Franz Weninger created this bottle as a 'wine of access' to promote community and togetherness.
- Grapes are harvested entirely by hand under Weninger's 'Rage Against the Machine' philosophy.
- The estate operates across borders, farming certified biodynamic plots in both Austria and Hungary.

## Food pairing

The high acidity and supple tannins cut effortlessly through fatty textures, while the wine's vibrant red fruit and savory peppery undertones harmonize with rich earthy mushrooms, charcuterie, and roasted poultry.

## Wine making process

The grapes are 100% hand-harvested following Weninger's low-intervention principles. Fermentation is triggered spontaneously using native cellar yeasts without added commercial cultures, temperature manipulation, or additives. The wine ages in large neutral wooden casks to maintain fruit purity, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered under screwcap with only a minimal dose of sulfur dioxide added at bottling.
