## About this wine

Azienda Agricola Arianna Occhipinti is located near Vittoria in southeastern Sicily. The wine name SP68 refers to Strada Provinciale 68, a historic country road over 3,000 years old used since antiquity to transport wine from inland fields to the coast. Founded in 2004 when Arianna Occhipinti was just 22 years old, the estate has gained international acclaim for pioneer work in natural viticulture and native Sicilian grape revival.

## Interesting facts

- The wine is named after Strada Provinciale 68, an ancient Sicilian trade route over 3,000 years old.
- Arianna Occhipinti established her iconic estate in 2004 at just 22 years of age.
- Although a white wine, it undergoes 12 to 15 days of skin maceration in concrete tanks.

## Food pairing

The vibrant acidity, subtle phenolic skin-contact texture, and rich floral-herbal aromatics make this wine an ideal match for Mediterranean seafood, fresh herbs, and goat cheese dishes.

## Wine making process

Grapes are hand-harvested from 23-year-old vines grown on red sand over limestone ridges. The juice undergoes spontaneous co-fermentation using native yeasts in 85 hl concrete vats with 12 to 15 days of skin maceration. Aged for 6 to 7 months in concrete tanks and 1 month in bottle prior to release, without oak contact, filtration, or fining.
