## About this wine

Stamnaki, which translates to 'little wine jug' in Greek, is a project created by Greek wine importer Eklektikon under the producer name Denthis. The name Denthis references an ancient Peloponnesian designation celebrating the region's millennia-old winemaking heritage. Working with small family growers across the Peloponnese peninsula, the project aims to showcase accessible, pure, and unadorned expressions of indigenous Greek grape varieties.

## Interesting facts

- 'Stamnaki' translates to 'little wine jug' in Greek, honoring traditional everyday drinking habits.
- The producer name Denthis refers to an ancient designation from classical antiquity in the Peloponnese.
- Unlike traditional Nemea reds, this Agiorgitiko sees zero oak aging to highlight crisp, pure dark fruit.

## Food pairing

The moderate acidity, soft tannins, and juicy fruit profile of Agiorgitiko complement Mediterranean cuisine perfectly, balancing tomato acidity, oregano herbs, and grilled meats.

## Wine making process

Harvested manually from 20-year-old vines grown on clay and limestone soils at 350 meters elevation, the grapes undergo 7 to 10 days of skin contact in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation occurs with selected yeasts at 24°C, followed by natural malolactic fermentation. The wine matures briefly in stainless steel before bottling without oak contact, fining, or heavy filtration, preserving pure fruit character.
